Evanescence - Bring me back to life

For this task we was given a song and we had to create a music video to go along with that song with out looking at the music video, when we got the song we first looked at the lyrics and from that we made a spider diagram, then to putting together a story board and a plan of our shot list. 

The make up and costume for the video we though that it would be dark colours and very bold make up, the setting we though would be very secluded. 

From the lyrics we got the idea that it would show some one slitting there wrists then slowing drifting away where they are walking through the woods and find a bridge and committed suicide and wakes up in the bath and freaks out.  

Making the video we had to make sure that we did a health and safety report as some one was falling into the water so we made sure that the water was checked before and that there was a lifeguard on the scene ready to jump in just in case anything did happen.

When editing the clip i had to change the colour of the actual clip by changing the brightness, temperature and the contrast as we filmed during the day so the lighting didn't suit the style of music that we had been given. Putting the clips together was just as hard as putting he clips for the single ladies music video together because i had to make sure that the lip singing match with the words, that was being said at the same time and i wanted to make sure that the clips matched the music.

If i was giving this task again i would make sure that i would match the song to watch is happening on scene better, for example in this video i could have match me falling in the water just when the beat kicked in, instead of it being just after and when the tempo picked up after the walking scene i could have been running instead of carrying on walking. 

Recreation of the music video single ladies

This is our first recreation of  a music video, we decided to choose beyonce single ladies because the setting and costumes was simple but the dance routine was complex and so was all the different camera angles and movements.

The making of the video was difficult because we had to make sure we got the routine right in every take and we have to make sure we had all the different camera angles in, like the high angle, low angle, long shot, close up, extreme close up ect. and the the movement of the camera when it goes around in a circle. 

Putting the video together on the movie editor was more complex as i had to make sure the music match up with the moves and each of the moves flowed with the next when the angle of the camera changed and once i finished editing i just put the clip in to black and white. 

Next time i would use a better camera to get better quality and i would also make sure that the surface that the camera is going to move on would be on a smoother one so then it wouldn't be so bumpy
